To The Stars
The City Of Bohen
"It seems that we are early." Sighed The Chronicler as she looked at her map and then at the sky.
"Well it is better getting here early than late." Pointed out The Observer.
He then took a sip from his pint of beer. Looking around as people started looking at him.
"How early are we?" Ryo asked, trying not to notice.
"Oh, a couple of days at least. All we need to do is wait for Indril to arrive." The Chronicler said, tucking her hair behind her ear.
They quickly ate their breakfast of sausage and beans. This, after all the food that they had eaten on the road, they enjoyed. They enjoyed it even more as they were inside and in an environment that was not all about to kill them.
"Well in that case then I'll be going out." Cari said, putting on her coat once she had finished.
"Where are you going?" Both Ryo and The Observer asked.
She smiled as she shrugged. She then pulled her bag on her.
"It's a big city and I thought that I'd stock up." She said, taking out her money pouch.
"Then I will come with you." The Observer said.
"Do what you want."
They walked out.
"Now, tell me, how can you tell if a steak is cooked?"
"If it's brown."
"How can you tell if pork or steak is cooked?"
"If it's tough and not soft." She said, walking into a cleaners shop.
There she saw a group of women at one corner scrubbing several clothes. Another group was squeezing the wet clothes and scrubbing it against a board, taking more and more of the water out. They then flicked them out and then handed it over to a fairy clothed in an orange dress and yellow corset with a layer of crimson lace going around the skirt. Then the clothes were dry.
She then handed her dirty clothes over to them. Without question they took it and started their work. While she waited, The Observer gave her a quick verbal cooking lesson. She stayed there for an hour until they were clean. Once they were she gave them three gold coins and four silver coins.
Then took her clothes and left.
"Where are you off to next?"
"The seamstress." She said, as she gave him a gold coin.
"Thank you."
They soon walked over to the nearest seamstress. She took them and looked at each of the clothes. Then once she had looked at each of them, she soon started. There she waited for another hour until they were done, yet the seamstress looked at several of her clothes and frowned.
"I am sorry young lady but these clothes are beyond repair. Even magic would not fix those clothes." She admitted.
She gave her three silver coins and one gold.
"It's alright. I'll just have to replace them. You can keep them. Reuse their material for something else."
She nodded.
Then they walked to the clothes and bought four new shirts and trousers, all black. The Observer then bought some new clothes. He bought all black too. They then bought another couple of coats. These were also black.
"Do you ever wear anything other black?"
"Do you?"
He let out a chuckle. It was slightly off, almost as if he had not chuckled in a long time. To a point where he wiped away a tear.
Then his eyes returned to their melancholic look. He let out a long and deep sigh. Then the sorrow returned.
She wanted to ask what was wrong but decided against it. Her gut told her that she better left not knowing. After all, she knew that it was his niece and that she looked and acted like her. She wondered why? Yet another question she thought to decide against asking.
They soon walked to the nearest hairdressers. She looked at her long hair and knew that she needed to have it cut. She knew that long hair could pose a risk in battle. So she wanted it to be cut short. So she sat down to have it cut.
She also noticed that The Observer needed a cut too. The hairdresser approached The Observer.
"Touch my hair and you are dead."
"But it needs cutting! It's almost touching the ground! And it hardly looks well kept!" Cari snapped.
His eyes worked and then he rolled them.
"Fine, but no shorter than the hip!"
"What about a long fringe?"
"No."
The hairdressers soon worked on their hair. She ended up with short hair with a long fringe. Looking at her and then at The Observer, she noticed that they looked very much alike.
She wondered if he was an ancestor of hers, which would explain it all, but, somehow, highly doubted it. Upon realising that it ultimately did not matter she dropped it.
After this they soon walked to the weaponry, where she bought more purple dragon scale arrows. She then bought three unicorn hair strings for her crossbow.
She tried not to notice The Observer looking at her in nostalgia. His eyes were filled with sorrow and she felt slightly irritated by this.
"Who was she?"
"'She'?"
"The one that I remind you of."
"What?"
"Why do I remind you of your niece?"
He looked at her in shock. Then he frowned. Then his eyes softened.
"My niece…she…she liked fighting with a bow and arrows."
"Well I fight with a crossbow."
"When she was alive crossbows did not exist. Although, I think if she was alive today, she would have used one."
"Is that why I remind you of her?"
"Yes and it does little help that you look like her, although with white eyes, not red and you are the years younger that she was."
She nodded, understanding.
"The white eyes and cuts are part of my curse."
He frowned and nodded.
"Was it…bad growing up?"
Her eyes tensed as she thought.
She remembered her childhood, memories of her and Hikari, running in the fields, playing hide and seek and many other games, flooding her mind. Yet the more she thought about it, she would always remember that that would always end the same way, with the people looking at her. Almost as if she was about to kill Hikari and she knew that there would have come a time that they would have either hurt her or even killed her, 'just to protect Hikari' before she had the chance to. Yet despite the fact that she loved her sister it never changed the peoples paranoia.
"Sometimes. My kingdom hated me but my father and little sister loved me and I loved them. Father even stood up for me after my sister was kidnapped by a dragon, which turned out to be my mother."
"And why did the Dragon Queen do that?"
She let out a huff.
"To put me on the throne. However if that didn't work they would have forced Ryo to marry her. Just to obtain my kingdom and, after a bit of trickery of the Dark Master Lord, founding kings Mortmor thought that Fireheart lied to him and thought his land belonged to Mortmor and Fireheart thought that Mortmor had killed his son. Although, despite it all, I lived a better life compared to Ryo."
He nodded as she felt a punch of guilt as her memory of how she found out these things flooded her mind.
I can't believe I did that! I know that it was to obtain information, but I blatantly stabbed him in the break. I stabbed my own half-brother!
Which is why I am not worthy of the dragon throne and why Ryo deserves it far more than I ever will.
"Nor that I was any better. I did stab him in the back once I obtained this information."
He looked at her, shocked. He let whatever it was slide as the guilt grew within her.
"Even though I needed it in order to save my sister, the fact that I did it nevertheless."
Which is why I will not be fighting for myself.
Once she finished, she walked to a library. She walked to the librarian.
"Urn, excuse me. You don't have anything on the planet Drage, do you?"
"Sure, why are you planning on going there?"
"Yes."
"That is interesting, it looks like that destination is quite popular as of late."
"Why?"
"Last year the Dragon Queen was killed so within the next two years a new Dragon Sovereign will rise. Also of all the candidates there are two dragon human hybrids! Both were born of kings here!"
Sure is talkative for a librarian.
"Here"
She gave her an orange book.
Drage
A Traveler's Guide
H.Stainsilver
H.Stainsilver, wonder who that is…
She thought that it was intriguing. She liked the black heart at the top of the spine. She looked back up at the librarian.
"Do you have a place where I can read this book?"
"Sure."
She led the girl to the top for, where there were many tables and chairs, where there were many others reading. There was a group at the far right in a heated debate. Then her eyes meet a restaurant to the left. To the center, was a group of four rows with a man dressed in black robes with a pale purple leather hood. He spoke and wrote down on a chalkboard.
The Five Ages Of Gods
The Six Ages Of Legends
She shook her head, not wanting to get distracted. There at the corner of the eye, she caught sight of Dark Master Lord Gajellidor Darcrogh! She seized up slightly as she looked back only to see that he was not there.
She let out a sigh of relief as she moved on, realising that she might have been seeing things.
"Are you alright Miss?"
"Yeah…I just thought that I saw someone. Must be my imagination."
She then walked on, weaving around the pool of people as she looked for a good spot, where she could just look down and read. As she moved on she could feel that she had to squeeze through person after person. However, the further she walked on the more she had to push through the forest of people. She had started to become claustrophobic as she rebelled on.
She then felt a pale white hand grab her. It was slender but masculine with claw-like nails that almost dug into her wrist. She was almost dragged through the crowd. She looked up to see a man dressed in black.
He put out a hand in front of him, pushing part through the crowd and he turned right and soon he pulled her through to a clearing. She then panted for a moment. She caught the sight of royal purple garnet hair tips.
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome, dear!" Sang the man.
She then looked up and saw a black rose in front of her.
"Here, all the great girls should have one." He purred.
He then put it in her hair.
"There, you look perfect." He purred.
"See you sometime you get back! I'm expecting great things from you!" He purred, blowing her a kiss before disappearing into the crowd.
Weirdo!
She shook her head and sat down. She put the book on the table. Forced all her mind back onto the book, diving out all thoughts. She opened the book and started reading.
🖤
The planet Drage is in the Reptilian Galaxy. It
is the largest of the Giant Planets recorded. It is
noted that from afar the planet looks orange with
seven moons of different colours and the of the
moons have rings around them. This makes the
planet both scary and beautiful to look at.
🖤
It has gigantic mountains that even the tallest
of mountains of this planet would be made like
a dwarf. With vast orange fields spreading
across what looks like continents. With trees with
golden bark and bright yellow leaves. There are
many large flowers here that are either as black as
coal or as red as blood.
🖤
The sky seems to change colour, just like Merth,
however unlike Merth that has all the colours
in the M Universe, it only changes from yellow
during the day, orange in the evenings and red to
maroon at night. With the clouds here are all
different shades of people.
🖤
That seems beautiful! She thought as she looked up.
She then looked outside and noticed the darkening lilac sky.
She knew it was time to rerun to the inn. She stood up then walked up to the librarian.
"Do you know if I can get this in a book shop?" She asked.
"Yes, it's just opposite the library. Although I have to say I like that book above all the others on the planet Drage, after all it highlights the beauty of the place, meanwhile the others just highlight the danger of the planet."
She noted as age put the book away and left, just to stop herself from being pulled into another conversation with the talkative librarian. She was about to walk over to the book shop when the librarian stopped her. She was panting, holding the book.
"Here, keep it!" She said, her cheeks scarlet.
"Urm thanks?" She said, wondering what was going on. "Why are you-"
She showed another copy with a scribble in.
"What?"
"Guy came in! Had a signed copy. So have it!"
She then took the copy she was given and walked away. She then opened the book, only to see that her new copy was signed. She put it away in her bag and walked back to the inn. There she stayed until room service came in.
"Yes?"
"Urm, are you Cari Lu'Ellette?"
"Yes."
"Someone wishes to speak to you."
A Dragon Reunion
The group walked to the bar aria in the inn. They looked for the one who wanted to see and talk to them but there was none that they could recognise.
There was a man with a sun burnt face looking at them. He was dressed in scarlet and orange armour with a crimson dragon head on the breastplate. His hair was bright orange with crimson tips. His stern eyes were yellow with coral red lines going to the center. He had a strong square chin with high cheekbones. His thick eyebrows were like the rest of his hair.
He gestured for them to come over to him. They all looked at each other, not quite knowing if they should approach. After all, this could have been a trap. He ruled his eyes and gestured again. Seeing that there was no other option they walked up to him.
"Who are you?" Ryo asked.
"Indral."
They frowned and looked at him shocked.
"Urm…is-isn't Indral a dragon?"
He smiled deviously.
"Yes. I am. Could you not tell?"
"No…but you look human."
"Can you not sense something else child?"
"No." Cari admitted, feeling disappointed.
"Then close your eyes and extend your focus to your gut."
They frowned at each other, however seeing that there was no reason not to, the two closed their eyes.
They could feel it now. It was a strange warm feeling surged in their inner guts. No, it was a feeling that was somehow deeper. Yet this feeling was comfortable, however as they looked deeper they felt something else too. A sensation that told them to be weary and yet they knew that this man was their ally. This then continued as they opened their eyes to see the image of a brought orange dragon in front of them.
"How?"
"It is a little known secret that dragons can dawn a human form." He explained.
"So that's how we were conceived!" She exclaimed.
"Seriously?" Ryo remarked.
Indral let out a chuckle as he looked at them. Almost as if they were cute animals.
"Yes, however, please! Lower your voice. As I was the adviser to your mother on Merth, until she had fallen for those kings, your fathers, I will advise you whenever you need it."
"Then would you be able to give us some lessons on Drage, more specifically on the political side. I think we will need it." Cari admitted.
Then I will be able to find the best way to get Ryo on that throne.
He nodded.
"You are getting down to the meat. I like that. Yes, I suppose you do. Then fear not I will do all to help you both. Although, I think you both will do well." He said, stretching slightly.
His eyes rested upon The Chronicler and The Observer.
"Although, you two, for obvious reasons, are not allowed to come."
"Why not?" Asked Ryo.
"Only the candidates are allowed to come. Especially with you two involved. The Dragon Council has noted that there would be many onlookers and has voted against having them."
"But many others are seeking to go." Retorted Ryo.
"Yes, they will be turned down at the port and sent home until the next Dragon Sovereign is declared. The Dragon Council prefers to handle these dealings in private. Although, I have to admit, it is hardly that surprising that there are those who wish to observe the battle for the throne. It is the first and only time there have been half human hybrids that have been candidates. So that just increased the interest."
"True."
"Yet this seems to not only be the strange event that is going on. There seems to be a lot of particular events that have been going on as of late." He said as he yawned.
"Are you tired?" Ryo asked.
"No! It is just loud places always make me feel slightly sleepy. Too many voices around here."
"Then do you wish to go somewhere else?"
"Yes, that would be wise."
They all moved to the room that they were staying in. His eyes suddenly became alive and focused.
"That is better, by far!" He exclaimed as he sat by the window.
"Now tell me, what strange events are you talking about?" The Observer asked.
The Chronicler sat in the corner and took out a feathers quill, a bottle of ink and a book with plain pages.
"Well the great Dark Lady was killed by a great hero known as Reho. Which happened about sixteen to seventeen years ago."
"What!" Both The Chronicler and The Observer said in unison.
Their eyes darkened as The Observer looked at The Chronicler, who looked worried. Yet The Chronicler let out a sigh and returned to her writing.
"So, that is why she was in a teenage form!" The Observer exclaimed.
"Yes, Reho split the soul of Dark Lay Grasharlo into three, two are awake but the other who is not is currently at the Academy learning all she can about who she was. She is currently in her final year right now."
He paused as he waited for The Chronicler to be able to finish writing. Once she did she looked up at him and nodded.
"Then there is the fact that demons have been killed. In fact early this year the White Demon's castle melted into a newly formed lake. The locals are calling it Deathsnow Lake. Then the demon kingdom, Glahod, was completely wiped out by the Demon King Wolfox, and it is said the princess he was sealed in, Princess Pheoshan, actually has his power! People believe it might have something to do with the fact that she had only just been born when he was sealed away in her body."
At this they both looked angry and shocked.
"What? Who in their right mind would put that thing inside a child?" They both stormed.
The Observer hit the wall.
"I mean I had a friend that was possessed by that thing since he was fifteen and he was terrorised and tortured by him. He even tried to kill himself! And you're telling me that someone sealed that inside a newly born baby! What drating person would do that!? Well whoever would, must have been out of their darting mind! And that's coming from me!" The Observer shouted. "What else have I missed?"
"Piracy is on the rise and strongholds of the Dark Master Lord have been coming down in the Queendom Isles and Publove, sometime after the Kingdom Isles Wars came to an end."
He nodded as Cari froze slightly as she placed her hand over the scar in her arm.
"That was us." Ryo said. "We encountered him at the last Page. It did not go down well."
"So, we really are in a new Age Of Legends." The Observer said.
"Yes, I believe so. Which is why the other dragon royals and the Dragon Council wish to not have there be people watching the event." Indral said.
The Chronicler nodded as she wrote it all down, using her magic to dry the ink.
"Shame, I really wish that I could come, I would have loved to record that."
Cari smiled as she placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, I'll tell you all about it."
"Thank you!" She expanded gratefully.
"By the way, where did you get that rose from?" The Observer asked, despite his guarded eyes, he could not keep his worry out of his voice.
"Don't know, he never gave a name."
"Did you see what he looked like?"
"No. He wore a hood over his face."
"What did he say?"
"Nothing much, only that I suited it." She said as she looked at him cautiously. "Why?"
"Nothing. Although I think that you three ought to go and get your tickets tomorrow."
They nodded.
Seeing as it was late they all went to their rooms and went to sleep.
The Tickets
They soon woke up and ate their breakfast. Ryo and Cari were about to collect their money when Indral shook his head.
"There is a different payment method to buy off world tickets." He told them.
They soon nodded and followed them. It was only a fast but brief walk to the station.
They noticed that the whole building was made of a lapiz lazuli coloured blue metal. Cari deduced, by that beauty, that it must have been made of shead dragon scales. It was in the shape of a cube with a bigger cube behind it. They looked at the glass doors, but when they looked closer at them they noticed that they were actually diamond doors!
They were soon greeted by a cloud of people, bumping into each other as they walked to and fro. In fact there were so many they could not help but push through many people as they came closer and closer to the ticket stand. They carefully had to navigate through the crowd, while keeping an eye out for each other. Making sure not to separate and not get crushed too. Yet they tried not to, but none of them could help but have to bag through one after the other.
So after being bagged and pushed around they finally arrived.
They had to take a deep breath in and out to help themselves calm down.
"Could I help you?" Asked a woman with a put on smile and tiredness in her grey eyes.
She had blond shoulder length hair with the top half toured back in a platt. She wore a silver dress and a single silver belt.
"Yes, Madam, I am Princess Cari Lu'Elliette and this is Prince Ryo Kizeru and Indral. We are here for a ticket to the planet Drage."
She looked down and plucked a hair from each of their heads. Then she placed one after another in a glass vial, where they all lit up, Ryo's lit up purple, Cari's lit up orange and Indral's scarlet. Then it spread out and became three crystals the width of a centimetre and the length of an inch. She then pulled them out and put them on a two gold wire, and gave the purple one to Ryo and the orange one to Cari and the last was put on a silver wire and given to Indral.
"Here are your tickets for the star vessel Star Touch. Enjoy and I hope that you have a safe journey." She said in a false present way.
"Thank you and I wish you to have a great day." Cari said as they turned back around.
They put on their tickets and looked back at the crowd. Knowing that they had no other option they walked back into the crowd. They walked on and on, but it seemed like there were more and more people from a moment ago.
Cari felt like she did not have room to breathe as she was constricted by the ever increasing crowd. Her head started to spin and spin as she felt the crowd become closer and closer to her. She knew that it was cruising her and her breath was becoming thinner and thinner. She gasped for more and more of the air but nothing could fill her lungs, which were struggling to expand. As she walked on she felt more and more hit her. Then she was knocked down. She tried to get back up as she had realised that she had lost sight of the other two.
She was knocked again and a hand grabbed her and pulled her up. The hand was masculine, yet slender, she could have sworn that she had seen the hand once before but she could not remember where. Yet it gripped her tightly and pulled her. Knowing that she had no other option, she decided to trust the hand to help her. He dragged her through the crowd, giving her no time to stop. He continued pulling her until they came out the other end.
She bent her legs and her head was bowed slightly as she panted, taking her time to gather her breath.
"Thank you!" She gasped.
"Don't." Spoke a very familiar voice.
Where have I heard that voice before?
Then she looked up and everything froze and seized up. Dark Master Lord Gajellidor Darcrogh was right in front of her! Her face drained of colour as she could not process who she was setting. Her heartbeat increased as she started swearing out of pure fear.
"G-G-" Was all she could get out of her lips.
She tried to take a step back but her body could do nothing but tremble. She knew that she had to get out of here but she could not. Her body no longer listened to her. Everything shook, even her breath. She felt tears of frustration build in her eyes at her own helplessness.
Please no! He is going to kill me, he is going to kill me. He is going to kill me right here and now and there's nothing that I can do about it. He knew that we would survive all his obstacles and come here. He had been waiting all this time to kill me!
Move dart it! Move body, get out of here! Get out of here!
At this he smirked.
He then chuckled in a strange lyrical way. Even though it sounded pleasant it was laced with ice. He outstretched the hand that was gripping hers a moment ago. He reached over and as she looked at it getting closer and closer, all she could think about was what it had done to her. Yet even this could not get her to move! She flinched as it rested on her head.
"Do not fear child! I see that you are no longer a threat." He cooed, stroking her head.
As if I'll believe that! You-you're only saying that to make me relax and then you'll kill me!
"Th-th-then wh-wh-"
"Why am I here?"
She could only nod.
"Well! I'm here just to see you off and to meet a nuisance son of mine. I heard he is in town." He said, glancing at her. "Well now that I am here I might as well wish you luck."
He then lowered his hand and pulled her arm up. She wanted to pull it out of his hand, but her mind had long since lost control of her body. He rolled up the sleeve revealing the scar that he engraved into it. He stroked it slowly.
"Please no!"
He chuckled and kissed the scar.
He then leaned in close.
"I will see you whenever you need to be reminded about who really has the power." He said, letting her go.
He then turned.
"You take care now!" He sang as he walked away and disappeared into the crowd.
She collapsed onto the floor. She could not stop herself from shaking. The tears flowed and flowed. She was both scared and relieved. She just could not stop as she broke down further weeping. She lost track of how long she was there, rocking upon the ground controlling her breath and trying to stop her tears from falling.
"Cari!" Ryo shouted.
She snapped out of it.
"Are you alright?"
She shook her head. She dared not speak.
"Why? We lost you. What happened?"
"G-G-Gajellidor."
"Here?"
She noted.
"Did he do anything?"
"No. Nothing painful."
He picked her up.
"Come on, we need to get you back to the hotel." He said, carrying her.
The Heart Of A Dragon
"So he's here!" The Observer snapped, his eyes filled with fire.
"I don't know if he's still here. He said something about meeting a son of his and he wanted to see me off." Cari admitted, stroking her scar. "But we don't have time to focus on that."
More like I don't want to focus upon that.
"We need to focus upon learning as much as we can on the planet Drage. We can focus upon that should I return."
He frowned for a moment, then smiled and nodded. They then turned to Indral.
"Right. The first dragons rose in the mountains less than thirty years after the Black. Do you know what the Black is here?"
"Yes, the period of time none knows anything about. Yet there are many who believe that there was a time before that but nine knows for sure. History officially started the following year, a century before the First Age Of Gods." Cari said, trying to remember everything that she could.
"Well, when they rose, they quickly teamed the land of Drage and, as they spread, where they settled became their element and the generations tied to multiple elements were lost apart from one station tribe that constantly moved around from land to land. This caused them to become wiser and more experienced than other dragons. So the other dragons appointed them as the planet's leaders. As time grew on they soon became royalty and the first season king King Draconon was born.
"Yet this tribe soon became territorial once they found a place to settle. Then they became greedy and wanted more and more land. This led to the event in the Third Age Of Gods known as the First Dragon War and this lasted right into the Fourth Age Of Gods. Then it died down until the political sphere tried to exterminate the rest of the tribe and when they defended themselves, this caused the Second Dragon War. This reached up until Phorap The Mad somehow showed up and put an end to it during the First Age Of Legends." He explained.
He took a drink of water to wet his dry mouth. He then swallowed.
"He quickly brought an end to the war. In return, they offered to grant him one wish. He soon explained that he had arrived on our planet by a one way portal to escape some place. His wish was to rerun. The dragons tried all they could to get Phorap Philosopher home. Yet magic did not work. Soon they found that his home was not even the same planet.
"Yet some found that they could not breathe in space nor could they remain warm. This caused them to work on creating a vessel that could carry him home. This caused them to increase their technology and soon they were able to create one and journeyed with Phorap The Mad on the Star Vessel and when he landed, he was an old man.
"It was here, Bohen, that at the time was called Dragonsrest, that they arrived. They only recently remained this place Bohen after a mistranslation of the name of the first dragon to set foot on this land, Bowen. The first dragon to set foot on Merthen rock."
"So is that why technology suddenly professed as rapidly as it did?" The Chronicler asked, taking a break from her scratching.
"No, that took place shortly after the Sixth Age Of Legends. After all, when the dragons came they were not fully accepted and they increased the greed in the hearts of those that lived here. So they never were able to do anything but defend themselves against the humans. As I am certain you are aware, Chronicler and even you, Observer to an extent. However another strange occurrence happened during the Third Age Of Legends, dragons were taking a liking to the beautiful ladies and the rare handsome gentlemen. In fact, collecting them became a habit which turned into an addiction."
"So that's why so many princesses were getting kidnapped by dragons!" Cari exclaimed.
"Yes. This led to the first war between dragons and humans. This led to both sides losing a great deal yet even that was brought to an end during the Sixth Age Of Legends."
"How so?"
"A new and uprising Dark Lord Gajellidor Darcrogh rose to power."
Cari felt herself grab her arm and tense up.
"He proved to be an enemy to both and could not be decorated by either. Regardless of how many times they tried to defeat him, nothing worked. Yet even though some killed him, such as the brothers they founded the Kingdom Isles in the dawn of the Sixth Age Of Legends. He would always find a way back.
"It became so bad that both set aside their differences and had to focus on him and him alone. In fact the dragons set aside a group of trusted humans and gave them part of their power and the ability to control them, to the opposition of some dragons yet this was partially quenched as they tied their power to the amount of dragons that they, the humans loved. This was the foundation of the Dragon Lords. Who lived by a simple code that all of their kind followed 'Dragons Are Not Weapons'.
"Upon a great battle at the end of the Sixth Age Of Legends a Dragon Lord, Johan Close broke apart one of the three Reality Spheres in order to stop him. Offering his own life to do so. Yet upon seeing him close to death his pregnant wife saved him and the gods turned him into a house and sent him and his wife to another world. Thus brings most of the conflict between drains and humans to a close."
He took a long gulp.
"That is an abridged history, though I will go into greater detail on the way there."
"Right, and what values do the dragons follow?" Ryo asked.
"Depends on the dragon and where that dragon comes from. Some value strength, some wisdom. However there is a dragon proverb; if you are wise and strong, you rarely go wrong."
"That's a good one." Three of them said in unison.
Cari and Ryo frowned as they looked at each other. The Observer meanwhile looked aside and pain entered his eyes.
Yet Indral looked at Cari as she looked back at him. She could see a determination and sincerity in his eyes.
"I will say this, Princess Cari, none will hold you to what you have done. I think that you shall find that all of your full blood dragon half-brothers and sisters would have done exactly the same thing one day with less virtuous reasons."
She nodded, yet it did little to comfort her.
"Now, I can tell you that even though there is human blood in your vanes, you still possess the heart of a dragon."
The Star Touch
The day of take off had arrived. To Cari, it had barely been a day since she had arrived, yet she knew that it had been three. They all collected their bags, Cari made sure that her books were there. She then double checked her clothes as did the rest of them and they soon left the inn.
They walked to the blue building and even though they had set off early, mainly to avoid the packed crowd, it was still filled with people. Fortunately not as much as two days ago, but still there was enough for there to be a crowd.
To Cari's relief, they were able to walk in and reached the desk without any of the claws of claustrophobia. This helped Cari relax slightly as part of her mind had become alert as she looked around, afraid that Gajellidor would show up. Yet she saw none but that hooded man that gave her the rose. She felt a chill run down her spine as she looked back.
What was that all about? She wondered as she turned back to the man at the desk.
He looked as if he was in his early twenties. He had short lilac hair and deadened green eyes. He has a pale face with low cheekbones under a pair of bags. This gave him a strange older look to his young face. He wore a pale green shirt with blue dragon doung trousers.
She showed him her crystal as did the rest of them. Indril then frowned as he looked at The Chronicler and The Observer. Realising he wanted to know that he wanted to know why that had none Ryo let out a slight chuckle.
"It's alright, they're here to see us off, that's all."
He nodded.
The mean at the desk patted the point of each crystal and they grew three identical segments to the left.
"Use it for the door to the next office, it should take you where you need to go." He said, pointing to the door next to him. "As the other two are not coming, you should say your goodbyes here."
"Right, thank you."
"So goodbye then!" Ryo said. "Thank you for all you've done!"
"I don't know when, but see you when I get back." Cari said. "And thank you too, for helping us both."
"See you if I see you, girl!" The Observer sang.
"Remember, do what is right. If it's right for you to take the throne then take it. Believe me ill fitting crowns easily slip."
"I'll keep that in mind!" Ryo said, nonchalant.
"I know." Cari commented, glancing at Ryo.
They shook their hands and they turned to the door. Cari took off her crystal and slid it in the lock and turned. She then pushed the door to see a black wall of smoke in front of her. She frowned and put her crystal back on and walked in. She felt a cool breeze around her and she was soon in a room.
There were five rows on each side with a parting in the centre. There was a navy blue carpet on the floor with white walls. The seats were made of the shed scales of an orange dragon with crimson cuttings with a scaled thorn pattern embroidered on.
She saw there were several people sitting in the seats and she took a deep breath as she walked up the back and took her seat. She soon saw Ryo and he sat next to her. This was soon followed by Indral. Then the door disappeared and a dark grey door appeared in front of them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Star Touch Star Vessel. I am Ferlicirty Rosedale, I will be your host while you are on your journey. This will take approximately one month give or take." She said with a cringey laugh. "Now all of you take your seats and put your start harness on and have a nice journey."
She looked down and saw that there was a box under the chair. She picked it up to see that there were two loops and she looked aside to see the others pulling at the loops and she pulled. Then something pounced upon her and she was sealed to the chair by several bars. She looked down to see a hole similar to the one in the door they came in.
Then she felt a shake and was soon pressed back against the chair as they shot out and then felt almost weightless as they left the planet Merth behind.
